How does UA converts international grades to equivalent GPA?

Hello Everyone
As mentioned, I wanted to know how does the University of Albama converts the grades of International students to equivalent US GPA ( I am an Indian Student).

I read this on the UA website, http://gobama.ua.edu/international/checklist/:

“Applicants from foreign institutions are required to submit a course by course evaluation by an approved credential evaluation agency to include grade point average and copies of transcripts. Applicants may select any member agency from the NACES website to request the evaluation. Final transcripts with date of graduation are needed prior to registration. Evaluations are considered based upon the one received and there is no guarantee that evaluation results will not vary thereby rendering slightly different decisions. Evaluations are used as recommendations only with final decisions reserved for The University of Alabama”

The credential evaluation agency will analyse your foreign transcript and come up with equivalent US grades. Visit the Naces website, [NACES® Members](http://www.naces.org/members.htm) to find out more about these agencies, cost, etc.

I hope that helps.

I cant say for UA but most colleges are familiar with foreign systems. As in they know what good and bad grades are and how they compare to US GPA

Thank you happytraveller and muhammad9211
I have another query
The UA site states that the UA scholars enrolled in college of engineering will recieve tution supplement to bring the university level scholarship to tution + 2500$. So is there no difference between UA scholarship
and presidential scholarship if one is enrolled in college of engineering?
