How does UCLA feel about schedule changes?

I've contacted UCSD and they basically dont care what you take spring quarter as long as you meet the minimum amount of credits needed to transfer.
I was wondering how the different UCs feel about spring quarter class changes (especially UCLA).
I altered my schedule by changing from the 2nd part of the intro physics series to the 3rd part of the intro physics series and I also changed my 3rd class to a different class (it made no difference to my major or gen eds, it was just a class for credits anyways). My changes were pretty minor but I dont know if people have ever been rescinded for even the slightest changes.

Idk how UCLA takes class changes, but you should definitely call them and ask before you do any class changes. Sometimes they’ll give you admission on the condition that you complete a specific class during Spring quarter… If you drop that class, you’ll most likely end up being screwed.

And I actually have a question for you lol… I’m transferring from UCSC just like you too. Do you know if every class at one UC is transferable to another UC? I’m not talking about a class satisfying a prereq at another UC, I just want to make sure that my College Ten Core 80A class counts for units when they’re reviewing my app. Thanks man!

Hey follow UC-UC hopeful
@cinnabon. I called UCLA before about transferable classes/units and the lady on the phone told me that all i could do was to review the classes’ descriptions and match it with try to match it to the one at UCLA. There is no guarentee that the class you were/are taking will be transferable; the units however are transferable.

@cinnabon1234 Im not really sure if our college core classes count as “writing 1” since we had to take writing 2 after that. Im hoping my college eight core counts too but i guess we wont know for sure until we transfer. Our credits, on the other hand, all transfer over, but might not transfer over as a certain class. itll just show up as credits

I didnt really change my schedule much but im still being all paranoid about it. I was gonna take physics 6b/m but then labs were all full so i decided to go physics 6c/n instead. Hope it doesnt make a difference

^Awesome, that’s all I cared about… as long as my units transfer over, I’m good. I was worried about this because I’m barely there with 91 units (if the writing class transfers over). I really don’t care if it transfers over as a certain class though.

And yeah, ThugFish, you should be good. I mean, they’re both Physics classes so it really shouldn’t matter. Even if it does, I’m sure they’ll let you go… its not like you dropped the class entirely, you simply replaced it with another, similar class.

Thanks for your help guys!

yea haha i was really worried about the 90 credit limit too but then i called ucsd and they told me that all uc classes transfer over for credits at least

what major did you apply as? and have you gotten anything back yet?

I applied as a Physics major just to UC Davis. And based on all the speculation/tricks that have been flying around the past 2 weeks, I believe I got in. I’ll find out for sure on Friday though!

Hbu, have you gotten anything back/what major are you?

i applied as a geology major and ive only gotten in UCSD and UCI so far. pretty much waiting only on UCLA though. its the only school that has a really great looking geology major. I was actually thinking of trying to swap my major to chem or something if I had to go to another school besides UCB or UCLA lol

Did you already get an acceptance for davis or is it the only school you applied to? I didnt even know there were tricks for uc davis lol

Nah, Davis’ decisions are coming out this Friday. Its the only school I applied to. And I heard that UCLA is behind by a week so you guys won’t be getting your decision until next Friday. Sucks lol. And yeap, there’s a pretty active discussion that’s been going on 2 weeks straight on Davis’ tricks. So far, it seems to be very legitimate. Go look for the thread “UC Davis Decision on MyAwards” haha, it’s on the front page. You didn’t apply to Davis?

Guys, I think contacting them about any change is important. I called UCLA this morning about it as my school cancelled one of my classes. They told me, yes, they need to know, and the sooner they know about it, the better.

From this page:[Current Applicants - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/currentapp.htm)…

“It’s critical that you let us know if the information you gave us on your application changes.”

Here is the form that you need to fill out:
[Contact Information - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](Contact Us | UCLA Undergraduate Admission)

By the way, I let SD, SB, SC, Berkeley, and Davis know about the change also, and the process is different for each school.

For SD: you sign in to their portal through the following link and fill out the form -[url=<a href=“https://saforms.ucsd.edu/SSO/ADM/Forms/TransferUpdateForm.html]https://saforms.ucsd.edu/SSO/ADM/Forms/TransferUpdateForm.html[/url”>https://saforms.ucsd.edu/SSO/ADM/Forms/TransferUpdateForm.html]https://saforms.ucsd.edu/SSO/ADM/Forms/TransferUpdateForm.html[/url</a>]</p>

For SB: I emailed admissions directly, and got an automated general help response. Still waiting to hear back.

For SC: Call admissions, go through the automated system to get to an adviser. They will email you a pdf form which you need to fill out with info about the changed course and all your coursework from fall to spring with grades.

For Berkeley: You have to send them a physical written notice via the mail.

For Davis: I sent them a notice through their online “Ask Gunrock.” They responded that it’s too late to affect decisions and to notify them after decisions are released.

@cinnabon Nothing is for sure about UCLA.
