How does UF determine registration dates for undergrads?

I'm currently a freshman, and I'm supposed to register for the summer & fall of 2013 on April 5 @ 5:45 pm, but I have friends who have a lot more credits than me who can't register until April 8. If the system isn't based on credits, then how else are these dates determined? Also, how much earlier are upperclassmen allowed to register than freshman? The two experiences I've had registering so far were bad: having to get on waitlists for MAC 2311 & CHM 2045L because I didn't take the placement tests before preview, and having to check ISIS every hour for several days in the spring to get a good section for STA 2023 & CHM 2046/L.

It’s a mystery to me, too. Honors status of course lets you register quite early. If I had to guess, maybe it takes into consideration your critical tracking or completed degree status? It’s some formula. Maybe you could go to the IT department and ask them how it works.

Depends on number of credits and if you are a part of any premier cohort thing like honors or IA

How do you know what day you can register?

Go on ISIS, clear all of your holds, and do registration prep, then you can see your registration date.
