<p>Most colleges use it, it’s fairly standard.</p>
<p>I like the +/- system more (although not when you’re barely passing, yeah, I’m talking about you physics) because it shrinks the scale of your grade. For example, an A is no longer a 90, is a 95 (not true for ALL classes, but for most yes, at least the ones I’ve seen), and then a 90 to 94 is an A-, and so forth. Some classes have a bigger bracket for each level, but I believe is used as a way to better quantify your success in the class. Making those dreaded 1 pts/% not mean THAT MUCH anymore.</p>
