How does UMiami compare to UCSB or similar schools?

<p>So I didn't get in my app for the UCs in soon enough, and I wouldn't have been able to afford them anyway, but it's always sort of been my dream to go out West.</p>

<p>I got into UMiami and got 32k a year which I'm really happy about, and think it's the place for me.</p>

<p>How would you say the vibe/students compare to those at UCSB? I know it's FL vs. Cali but I think Miami has a surfer/skater type vibe to it.</p>

<p>Oh and I also want to party pretty hard, and be able to continue surfing occasionally, with Frats and a fun local atmosphere.</p>

<p>Like the idea of the southern vibe and frattiness, but probably like the general atmosphere at Miami better… Let me know what you think!!</p>
