I have a 4.0UW at my school with a rank of 1, but I have gotten some A-'s. Will this drop my UofM GPA?

4.0 a+/a/a-
3.0 b+/b/b-
2.0 c+/c/c-
...so no it won't hurt your UM gpa at all.

out of curiosity, how can you have a 4.0 with a-'s?

our school does A+,A, A-=4.0, b+,b,b-=3.0 etc....
although I've never seen anyone get an A+

We used to go A-=3.7 but teachers complained because grading is so tough that kids who didn't deserve a 3.7 in the class were getting it bc of the A- policy.

rank is determined by weighted gpa.
Out of 200 kids we only get 1-2 vals/year, so it works.

Alexandre -- Is there any way to post directions for the Michigan GPA and pin it to the top? This has got to be the most commonly asked question, besides "what are my chances".

yes, it would be helpful to post this.
I see so much of 'UM GPA' but never know what it is.
It is quite nice to hear that an A- does not equal a 3.7.
Could someone also post what classes UMICH does not consider?
