How does UofM look at test breakdowns??

How much attention does Michigan pay to score breakdowns?

For example, I have a 32 act, but with a 36 in reading, a 36 in writing, and a 30 in science and a 27 in math.

Obviously, I’m a verbal gal. I’m applying to LSA, with an app centered on my love of words. Does being skewed one way affect how they evaluate the score?
As in, is having two 36s better than four 32s? And how unusual is it to have a significant discrepancy between math/writing in general?

Anyone have any data they can point to or anecdotes?

Interesting question but going into lsa that scoring makes sense. Not really sure I have your answer but when my son ended up with a 34 but 35 in both math and science, I think this makes sense for a kid going into engineering. Having some 36 in two sections is just awesome and just be happy with that accomplished.

Ah man, thanks for asking this? I’m much the same way- my SAT score was pretty stellar in english (730) but not so good in math (650). I was mostly hoping the fact that the 650 I scored was the highest out of anyone in my grade will balance out the fact that it’s not so good.
A 27 in math isn’t abysmal, though! Probably about on par with my 650. Your english score blows mine out of the water, though. If I have a chance of getting in, then so do you! :^)
