Wharton offers numerous dual-degree programs like the M&T program and the Huntsman program. Are dual-degree applicants evaluated in a separate pool than single-degree Wharton applicants?
For the specialized dual degree programs like M&T, Huntsman, or LSM, applicants must be accepted by the admissions committee for both schools and the specialized dual-degree program admissions committee. For example, for M&T, you must be admitted by both the engineering and Wharton admissions committees as well as the M&T admissions committee. If you get admits from all three committees, then you are accepted.
@doublepenguin Would applying to M&T and being rejected by one of those three kill your chances at regular Wharton? For example, if you’re rejected by MET at Cal, you’re still up for consideration at the normal EECS major.
It would be like MET at Cal. For the specialized dual degree programs with Wharton, when you apply, you indicate a single-degree choice school that you would want to be considered if you do not get accepted into the dual degree program. For example, for M&T, if you do not get into M&T, but you indicated Wharton as your single-degree “back-up” choice, you’ll be considered for Wharton and may get admitted into just Wharton. You can do the same thing for engineering instead of Wharton if engineering is your single-degree choice.
