I've checked it out on their website, and they say that they use this weird a-g system. I'm still not clear how they calculate GPA from it. Is it just A=4, B=3, C=2, etc? I do not live in California, so I'm not sure how the a-g system would apply to me since the website had a link to another website which says the a-g system is for California high schools. Please help because I am very confused.

The A-G system is for the UC system, not USC.

I too am curious how USC calculates GPA... there are 2 semesters/year also, right?

usc does run on a semester system, with two semesters in the academic year and an optional summer term if one needs to catch up in credits, GEs, or whatnot. i'm not completely positive abt the grading sys, but i've only ever heard of one in colleges, and that's the one Th3rmaL was talking abt, with A=4, B=3, etc.

ummm... i read about it somewhere... let me go see... i'll post when i find it

A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, C-=1.7, D+=1.3, D=1.0, D-=.7, F=0

This is how they calculate GPA once you are a student at USC... I dunno about when you're in high school.

cowtipper1, thank you.

Wow, I did not know that a 3.3 was a B+ :(
