How does work-study work?

I am an incoming Freshman spring-admit and I was offered a $2,000 work-study as part of my financial aid package.

What's the process for obtaining a job and receiving wages up to the amount I was offered? Is one randomly assigned to me or do I have to find one or what?

u have to find it and apply it like a regular job. go to the workstudy website for a listing

Here’s a useful link to Berkeley Work-Study FAQ:

[Work-Study Office - Students’ Frequently Asked Questions](http://workstudy.berkeley.edu/Work-Study%20FAQ.htm)

It says on the work-study page that: Scroll down and select “Refer student to this job”. Where can I find this? Also “Once this is done, the student can log-in to their area of Work-Study and accept or decline the job offer”. So does this means we have to apply on the work-study page in addition to sending resume to individual emails list on the job page?

If you are accepted, the employer will refer you to the job. You just have to email resume to the emails on the listings.

Easy Job:

Send e-mail to Employer. They respond. You go in for interview. They say yes. They send you a Job Referral. You go to Work-Study website and see Job Referral and accept. Go to work.

Hard Job:

E-mail + cover letter + resume. They respond. etc.

Is it hard to get accepted by those jobs on the job listing? I have applied 9 jobs from the list 2 days ago and only one replied so far. Also if the employer has hired someone for the position, will they withdraw the post from the list or just let it be there?

After the position(s) is filled, the post for that position will be removed from the current job listing.
