If it was up to you, what change(s) would you like Yale to make and why?

Change its name to Harvard :)

Jkjk of course.

Modify its student body by accepting CCuser18.

Edit: to make the school more awesome.

I’d consider moving it from New Haven (or change New Haven in general) but otherwise…not sure, it’s a pretty awesome place to spend 4 years (or longer…
)

Change the early notification day to today instead of December 15

This is a serious question.

I know that most of you are worrying about getting into Yale. But you also have learned a lot about it already. And have been thinking about what its pros and cons.

Same is true for the commentators who are at Yale or are parents and alumni (like me).

What do you see as the some of the directions Yale should or should not take?

I think more funding should be put into science at Yale… While no part of Yale is bad really, the science departments don’t have the “oomph” of the rest of the college.

I’d make it so they had more profs and no TAs. But still a graduate school.
Magically.

I REALLY think Yale should offer minors. Why don’t they? Agh! If I got in, I’d want to petition this…

There is a lot of personal development and growth that occurs during gap experiences. Yale could institute a program of funded gap projects, and I think that the returning students would offer much more to the learning community than they would have otherwise.

^^^ I like it. It always amazed me how the returning WW2 veterans infused US colleges with such energy. I wonder how top colleges would look if they focused on recruiting people who just weren’t immediate HS graduates?

MODERATOR NOTE:

While I would normally redirect political comments to the Elections & Politics subforum, it as recently been closed:

So please comply with CCs TofS and take any and all political comments and debates to another discussion community rather than airing them here on CC.

hmmmm a nicer surrounding area perhaps

to make it so there was absolutely no annexing in the residential colleges would be pretty nice. annexing kind of damages the whole residential college feel. or so it would seem.
This thread discusses it pretty well:
