Just wondering. I'll post my school's way on a random date in the near or far future.

UNWEIGHTED GPA:
regular academic classes: A=4, B=3, C=2 etc.
all honors/ap classes: A=4, B=3, C=2 etc.
all electives or any other class: A=4, B=3, C=2 etc.
so the UW GPA is out of 4

WEIGHTED GPA:
regular academic classes: A=4, B=3, C=2 etc.
all honors/ap classes: A=5, B=4, C=3 etc.
all electives or any other class: not calculated into weighted gpa
so the W gpa is out of 5

on a 100 point scale
A= 100-93
B= 92-85
C= 84-77
D= 76-70
F= 69-0
(except we dont get A’s, etc on our report cards, we get a number like 85)

weighted GPA:
non college prep course = unweighted grade multiplied by 1.00
college prep course = unweighted grade multiplied by 1.05
honors course = unweighted grade multiplied by 1.10
AP course = unweighted grade multiplied by 1.15

on a 120-point scale (don’t ask me where they figured this one out)
regular classes’ grades are multiplied by 1.1
pre-ap/ap classes’ grades are multiplied by 1.2
–this way, students are encouraged to take the pre-ap/ap classes, since they can receive a low a/high b and still be at about the same gpa as someone who made all 100s in regular classes

electives and such don’t count towards gpa, even if they’re required (i.e. health, speech)
i think our valedictorian this year had a 118 point something

On a 4.3 scaled

They don’t weight.

A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0

AP, DE, and Gov School are weighted in after total is averaged. All = +.06

jax^^ that sucks if you take ap classes cuz honors kids could get into top 10%. .5 extra for honors, 1 pt extra for ap. uw is out of 4 with a 97-100(basically impossible) being a 4.3

A= 90-100
B= 80-90
etc.

Unweighted: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, F=1
Weighted: AP/Honors: A=6, B=5, C=4, D=2, F=1

92-100 A, 84-91 B, 77-83 C, dont know the rest
number grades on report cards, averaged together for total average out of 100

Unweighted is the traditional 4 pt scale.

Weighted
Honors/AP: A=9.0 B=8.0 C=7.0…
Curriculum 1: A=8.0 B=7.0 C=6.0
Curriculum 2: A=7.0 B=6.0 C=5.0

Most lower level electives don’t count towards GPA, but some upper level ones do.

Why does it matter? It gets recalculated by the college’s standards.
