How does your HS rank AP, Dual Credit classes and pre-AP classes?

Our HS weights the GPA with 1.0 points for AP and 0.5 points for pre-AP and Dual credit classes. They plan to change this next year and credit 0.5 for AP and dual credits and not weight pre AP classes at all.

AP x/6.0
Honors x/5.0
College x/5.0
Standard x/4.0

Honors / preAP / AP all weighted the same - +.5 to the GPA, unless C or below.

they don’t weight them which is so annoying
however, they do give +.5 on your gpa (out of 100) each semester you take 4 or more APs…i’m guessing no one at my school has ever gotten more than a 100 gpa though

AP = 6.0
Honors = 5.0
College/Dual Enrollment = 5.0
Standard = 4.0

I don’t know why college classes are weighted as 5.0 and AP classes are weighted as 6.0 considering the fact that AP’s are supposed to prepare you for college.

Normal: 4.0
Honors: 4.0
Pre-AP: Not available
AP: 5.0

AP: 5.0
Honors: 5.0
Academic Dual Enrollment (like biology): 5.0

(A+ in these courses 5.5, but highly unlikely)

Elective Dual Enrollments (like webmaster and engineering): 4.0
Regular: 4.0

My school does my class differently than everyone else (well, I guess the seniors are still done the same way as we are) because they changed the system for them. For me:
AP = 6.0
Honors = 6.0
AA = 6.0
Regular = 4.0
Dual Enrollment = Not 100% sure. I know too much dual enrollment means that my friend can’t have a diploma with Honors, so they do something weird here.

AA and Honors are the same level of work, it’s just that Honors is a program that 80 students are in for 8th and 9th grade that has 3 classes (English, History, and Science in 8th. English, History, and Latin in 9th. But again, this was different for the classes below mine).

For class of 11 and down:
AP = 6.0
Honors = 5.0
AA = 5.0
Regular = 4.0
Dual enrollment = I still don’t know.

AP/DC: 5.0
Honors: 4.5
Regular: 4.0

AP/Advanced : 5.4
Honors: 4.59
Standard: 4.05

AP: 4.5
Honors: 4.0
Regular: 3.5
Shops: 3.0

Since my school reports GPA on a scale of 4.5, people taking regular and shop classes suffer. The highest GPA we’ve ever had was 4.03 because everybody ends up taking at least 1 regular or shop class in their career.

Pre-IB, Honors- 4.5 extra
AP/IB/DE-5.0
Regular A-4.0

AP/IB/Dual Enrollment = 5.0
Honors/Pre-AP = 4.5
Regular = 4.0

AP/IB/Dual Enrollment = 4.0
Honors/Pre-AP = 4.0
Regular = 4.0

my school doesnt weight, which screws over ppl who takes hard classes (aka me) lol

AP = + 10%
Honors = + 5%
Normal = + 0%

AP/Honors = 5.0 scale
Regular = 4.0 scale

I think A+ in Regular is a 4.4 and a 5.4 in Honors/AP but I’m not sure.

It’s all the same in my school.
But the teacher may “unintentionally inflate” our marks.

AP/IB/AICE > Dual Enrollment > Pre-AICE/Pre-AP/Pre-AICE > Honors > Regular

Ib 6
ap 6
h 5
r 4

.08 = AP and Dual Enrollment
.04 = Honors
Added to UW GPA per Semester which explains why some kids Have Such High GPA who graduate in the top 10 in my District.
