Let’s say there’s two people, one applies a week before the early priority deadline, and the other applies 2 months before the early priority deadline.
Does the second student have any better chances of getting in over the first? Is there any reason at all to apply super early, or am I okay as long as I get it turned in by the early action deadline?
The only reason is if it is rolling admissions. Otherwise, it does not matter. Better off making sure everything is done correctly and well.
@CollegeMan91 I’m not sure if Ohio State U has rolling admissions. This is from their website:
“We highly recommend applying by November 1 if you wish to be considered for majors within the College of Engineering. After Nov. 1, applications are considered on a space-available basis.”
Does that mean it doesn’t matter as long as I get it in by Nov. 1? (I’m planning on going into engineering)
It sounds like it is not rolling admissions. That means as long as you get it in by November 1 you’ll be in the same pool as everyone else. Best of luck!
I think it depends on the schools admission policy. Our school wants all apps in as early as possible. They want our students to work on everything at the end of their Junior year and summer. Be ready to go when common app opens in August and states schools at the beginning of Sept.
