How early to send SCEA App?

I was wondering if sending the application in quite early would have any impact on the decision. I don't want to look like a slacker who didn't get around to it until September 30, but I don't want to look like an eager beaver who's been planning for their apps since the sixth grade. Do they even care? Do they even open them before November?

When you have it complete send it in......you will still need to have your other components: letters of rec, counselor form, transcript, scores. There is NO harm in getting your app in early.

i submitted online at 11:58 PM on nov 1 and i still got in. honestly, they don't really care

i hope it doesn't matter.

keep in mind a few things:

some schools start august 1st, while other schools start august 30th.

some teachers take time to write recommendations

I think as long as you send it before the deadline, you're fine.

i'm hoping to complete mine by mid-September. I can't do much until school starts because of recommendations, etc.

planning since sixth grade? wow. I've always thought of Ivy League since around 3rd grade. I really feel like I've achieved something by always having some goal/desire to aspire toward

Sending it early has no advantage - in fact a case can be made for having a negative impact. Using the additional time fro reviewing and possibly revamping the essays can't hurt. You will find many instances in the CC archives that say their EA essays and apps were the worst and they wish they had the time to re-work them. I can't speak firrsthand but I'm quite sure I've read elsewhere that they do NOT reivew the applications as the come in. They wait until the deadline has passed then batch them together by region and review. DO yourself a favor - you have one shot - take the time to do your best.
