I recently got accepted but when I checked my application status, I realized that I had chosen Studio Art for my area of interest but it has me as Undeclared at Harpur, so does that mean I'm undeclared or in Studio Art?

I'd prefer to be Undeclared or major in Psychology than Studio Art at this point. If it turns out that I'm indeed in Studio Art, would I be able to change my major to psychology or undeclared at Harpur? If yes, how easy or smooth is the process?

When you check off that “area of interest” on the application, all it does is provide a little more information about you. It does NOT declare a major at all. When you are admitted to Harpur, you are admitted to the college as a whole, not to a particular program. You are free to declare as you please, regardless of what you originally put.

I believe a freshman must wait until the second semester (or until they have that much equivalent credit from APs) to declare.
