How easy would it be to double major in music and say biology? Does anyone know if vanderbilt is really flexible towards people who have this interest?

I'm a freshman at Vanderbilt writing under my mom's name. Anyway, it is certainly possible (although somewhat difficult) to double-major in Biology and Music. However, it is only possible to go in so many directions at once at Vanderbilt. For instance, I am (as of this moment) probably going to major in Spanish and get minors in Music and Chemistry (and I might even extend the minor in Chemistry to a major). I am also taking all of the requisite pre-med courses. All that to say, it is doable, but the Music major especially requires taking a lot of courses and also taking lessons and participating in ensembles. If you are pre-med, being a Bio major will take more effort than my Chem minor/major, since med schools only require 8 hours of Bio instead of the 16 required for Chem.
As I mentioned above, it is certainly possible to double-major in Biology and Music, depending on what your other interests are and how motivated you are. Good luck with everything, and definitely take a careful look at Vanderbilt. It's a great place.
