Just wondering b/c I’m not entirely sure I’m into CS, but I’m pretty interested in Civil Engineering. My parents would rather I try CS first because of the better career opportunities (even though they both offer strong career prospects).
hey! i didnt apply to cs, but when i was at a college visit for umass the admissions director straight up said that if you do and other major and plan on transferring into cs, dont expect an acceptance into cs when transferring. it is a highly competitive program that not really anyone leaves. hope that helps.
Easy. You can even take the freshman engineering course if you talk to the department head in engineering. I’m doing with that, but ill be double majoring in cs and ee.
Thank you @truetotalk , that is actually very helpful information!
Interesting @ReqCollatz … I might try to double major or at least take that freshman engineering class, thank you!
Take into account that since its across colleges, it will require an additional 30 credits, since its technically doing a dual degree. Are you coming in with any AP credit? If so you would have a much easier time.
