How exactly are you supposed to remember everything for the ap bio exam?????

I'm reading Cliffs right now (3rd edition). Its pretty good, better than Barrons. But, I'm sitll having trouble remembering stuff. I mean I guess im mediocre-good on the multiple choice (i'm passing the quizzes with only like 3-4 misses each time, which is still crappy but w/e)

for the practice frqs on each section, like i know what hey want but i can't put it to words because i forgot it....if i saw it on a multiple choice questino, i would immediately know it but I can't pull out the info like that for the frq

i'm reading everything (i'm on the plants section now)..but what do you guys usually do? memorize every single word in the book? because i used to do that for the chapter tests that our ap bio teacher gave us (it helped and plus i was able to use that memorization knowledge and apply it), but after the test, i forgot stuff..lol

gah, i need advice...i seriously want a 5 to redeem myself from a 1 on ap euro (which i barely studied for because i acted like i knew everythng already..w/e)

bumppp anyone plox

omg anyone please give me advice!!

my teacher is hardcore into diagrams, so study those and study your abstracts from labs, we take lecture notes, but there are so many i would just skim through and highlight a little bit each night

also if you get ffrq’s from your tests back, study them and draw them over to make sure you still remember the basics, its all in your mind already, you just have to sift through to get the good stuff on call

er we never do frqs…we have only done like 3 all year? yea…

im good with the labs…usually i score very high on those. all im having trouble is with remembering information so whats the best way to remember stuff (don’t say memorizing…ill prolly burn out from all of that lawl)

i make up crazy stories about stuff, like shoots grow in negative gravity growing because saying shoot, happens when something negative happens, or xylem is dead, because its sounds like zzzz, you can sleep when youre dead, i know this is stupid, but just word association helps me, get a nerd party going too! i did that for calc and it helped me so much, cuz if you dont associate enjoyment with the material it will be a burden to learn, in my opinion anyway… sorry this probably didnt help

lol i guess i understand? arghh well i guess i can pull off a 3 or above on this lol…ill study hard…already started anyway

also, like if u do good on the mc…but like outright fail frq (by fail i mean you get like 1-2 points per essay…lets just say that happens), can you still geta 3?

study frqs fer sure, but i failed my calc frqs and got a 3 so its possible, but dont rely on that!

OK thx ill be sure to put in tremendous amounts of effort (lol) starting tomoro…don’t wanna do anymore today since my brain is going to start wandering lawl

good luck! im sure youll do great!

and its not like you gotta get everything right. you can get a lot wrong and still get like a 3+

well, from what you wrote, it looks like you already OWN the barron’s book, so maybe you could benefit from my method of studying. I read through each section of barrons, which is less detailed than cliffs, but covers the more difficult topics. After reading a barron’s section, i read its respective section in cliffs for the nitty-gritty details. after the barron’s material, reading thru the respective cliff’s material is very quick& comprehensive.

there are quite a few others doing this (got this idea from some yahooanswers question), so maybe this could work for yooou. :D

If the multiple choice is 60% of your score (I’m not sure if it is or not), then you can get a 5 even if you get a perfect on the multiple choice but nothing on the free response.

^ I believe it is. You can get a 5 on the ap bio with just the MC and I don’t believe you even need a true 100% on the MC. All that you need for a 4 is around 50%.

i took the ap bio last year…
the mc was a lottt of labs and diagrams
which our teacher decided to go over 2 days before the ap test
… only three people in our class passed the test, and they got 3’s

so yeah… just giving u a heads up on diagrams

I have heard about that. I know that past exams have stressed the lab portion in the latter part of the MC section.

oh god, k

thanks for the advice guys. right now, im ony like ch 8 or w/e in ncliffs, its really booring lmao although i love biology.

Um anyone have links to where I can review labs?
Our class only did 3 labs…and we failed at those…
