How Exactly Do GPA Systems Work?

I have seen plenty of people on here talking about GPAs on a 4.0 scale, 6.0 scale, etc. My own high school doesn’t do any of these and simply calculates your grade point average from all your classes and gives you a score out of 100. How do all these systems overlap, and where would my 97.3/100 fall on these scales?

If you google, you’ll see some conversions. Mostly what I’ve seen is that 93/94+ is 4.0. Some say 90+ is 4.0
Some colleges are going to only look at core classes (math, science, English, social studies, foreign language) and recalculate that way.
It sounds like your GPA is a 4.0 to me.
