How exactly does a parent apply for a PLUS loan?

Where do you apply? I went to the link that said “Request a PLUS loan” at studentloans.gov. There is no actual application. It just lays out what you need to apply and says that they provide the school information needed to create your Direct PLUS Loan. The schools office of financial aid letter just says go to studentloans.gov to apply. How are people getting these loans?

I didn’t apply for a plus loan. But where are you in the process? You have been accepted and this is for fall? You have filed FAFSA?

federal loan page says:
Many schools require that you request a Direct PLUS Loan at StudentLoans.gov. The request form has a list of schools that participate in the Direct PLUS Loan program

Then at studentloans.gov there is a parents borrowers button to push to take you to that page. It seems that after you log in with your FSA ID you can request the Plus loan. WERE YOU LOGGED IN?

It seems that will generate a request to the school, then you contact the school:

This is a request for information in connection with your application for a Federal Direct PLUS Loan. The information that you provide will be sent to the school that you choose, and will be used by the school to process your application for a Direct PLUS Loan.

Thanks a bunch.
