How exactly would I apply this major/minor?

So, I'd like to become a CS major. No problem using that. But I'm also considering minoring/double majoring in Linguistics. I'm not really sure what application Linguistics has by itself, but I really don't know how it could be used with CS. Does anyone know what I would be able to do with this setup. I'm not sure whether to look at only schools with Ling departments, a number considerably smaller than those with CS departments. (About 150 to 950 according to College Board's search thing... It doesn't cross-reference the lists though, unfortunately.)

Is your goal to work with both of these things after college? As in, do you want to work with both of these, or one directly? Most people do something fairly unrelated to what they studied as undergraduates. CS people often do go into programming, but many do business or other jobs. Linguistics majors have many options available to them. With both, you could program language learning software, amongst many other things. Search the internet for lists that say "What can I do with a major in XXX," and also, ask professors in each field.

Linguistics has many subfields, several of which involve sophisticated computer programming. One of the subfields, computational linguistics, explicitly combines linguistics and CS.
