I got F on my transcript when i was in 3 years foreign college. Even though I could maintain my GPA at 3.8, the F on my transcript is appearing as a spoiler. I am right now in ASU to complete my 4-year Bachelor degree.

Having F in the transcript is like a nightmare which always disheartens me whenever I think of going on my graduate study at Stanford or Ivies, universities which I always dream of.

Am I not able to stand a chance to get into those uni for graduate study even If I do my best at ASU and obtain 3.9+ GPA? that's the end of my hope/dream?

I lost all my confidence and courage whenever I think of it.
Please somebody suggest me if I still have a chance to try.... pls

Your advice could brighten someone's life.

I’m not the most knowledgeable person about grad. school admission, but a 3.8/3.9 GPA is very high from what I’ve seen in college. Have you considered making up the course or taking an alternate course that’s similar?

What do you mean by making up the course or taking an alternate course that’s similar?

I got F on my Higher Mathematics. I got straight As all my previous mathematics.
And I will be taking Calculus II and III at ASU.

And also ASU is not a top-notch school, might it also adversely affect the admission to those school?

btw, i’m doing bachelor in computer science.
What could help to improve my chance to those schools?

At my college if you get below a ‘C’ you can retake the class, and it’s replaced by whatever grade you get the second time.

So see if your college offers a class that will take the place of the F!

Hopefully it does…but I feel like even if you can’t they will see your ability to succeed despite that one grade.
