How far along am I on prerequisites?

From the looks of things I am definitely going to be majoring in computer engineering and I will most likely be attending U of I Urbana-Champaign.

I've been trying to get an idea of what prerequisite courses I will be able to avoid taking based on the AP/honors courses I've taken over the last two years (currently a high school senior). I was wondering if I could get some help. These are the math and science I have taken so far that I should be able to get college credit for:

AP BC Calculus: 5 on AP exam
AP Physics C (currently enrolled): Most likely a 5 on both parts come Spring.
Calc 3 and Ordinary Differential Equations (currently enrolled): Dual credit courses offered through local community college that give college credit without AP exam.

What do you think I can expect from my freshman year? I would like to take courses directly related to my major as early as possible.

From the AP credit, you will receive credit for Math 221 and 231 (Calc I and II). You’ll probably also earn credit for Math 241 (Calc III) and Math 286 (Diff Eq) from the CC. A 5 on both sections of the Physics C exam will earn you credit for Phys 211 and 212. That’s a total of 23 hours.

As far as getting into major classes early, you’re supposed to take ECE 110 in the first (or second) semester, so that doesn’t change. You’ll be able to take ECE 190 in the second semester instead of the third, so you are advancing a little faster because of the credits.

Looking at the recommended sequence for CompE in the first semester: CHEM 102, CHEM 103, ENG 100, MATH 221, RHET 105 or ECE 110, Social sciences or humanities elective. Not much changes in your case except Math 221 needs to be replaced.

Wow, tyvm for the incredibly detailed reply! Didn’t expect anyone to go so in depth, at least not so soon after I posted this.

Anyway, glad to know that my hard work will at least help a little bit.
