How far does legacy status go in terms of RD?

I’m applying to middlebury and bowdoin, but I’m wondering if my legacy status there will even do much to boost my application, considering I’m applying regular decision. My aunt and both paternal grandparents went to middlebury and are very active alumni, and my dad went to bowdoin and regularly donates money towards their endowment (although it isn’t a lot, we aren’t rich). Will my legacy status even matter in the RD pool? Please respond!! I will chance back

Also, my stats:
Rank 7 out of 242
GPA unweighted 3.9, weighted 4.45
I attend a medium sized school in one of Massachusetts’ “inner cities”, and to my knowledge only a small handful of students have even applied/looked into any of these schools. I don’t know if it matters, though.
Ethnicity: white
Gender: female
ACT- superscore 33, highest composite 32
SAT (new)- 1370, 22/24 writing
AP tests- Biology (4), AP Lang and comp (4), APUSH (3) :frowning:
Senior course load
Total APs and honors taken- 7 APs, and
EC’s- 3 season athlete, all varsity this year and last year, and I’m captain of my gymnastics team. I am first chair trumpet in my school’s wind ensemble, jazz band, and marching band as well. I volunteer at my local animal shelter on weekends and I work as a lifeguard some weekdays after school. I also am a member of my school’s chapter of the national honors society and the tri-m music honors society.
Essay- I think it’s pretty well written! Not about a general topic like parents divorce or being adopted.
Recs- pretty good as I understand. They’re probably going to highlight my perseverance and exponential progress in music and academics. I haven’t read them, though.
Thanks!!!

Without looking at the schools’ websites, which I am sure you could do, I think you are a legacy at Bowdoin and not Middlebury. Having said that, I doubt that being a legacy will help much if at all in RD. Typically legacy bumps are realized in ED, as schools want to protect their yield. Having said all that, maybe someone with more knowledge of these school admissions practices has better info.

The Midd connection doesn’t qualify as “legacy”, but I would mention it. It might give you a small boost. You are a legacy at Bowdoin. Legacy does help in RD, all other things being equal.
You have good stats, esp the ACT and the writing scores, and your ECs are good. I would emphasize that you will continue with music performance in college. Consider Williams-they have a brass and jazz ensemble and value musical ability more highly than some of the other NESCACs.
