How far in advance do you usually need to schedule the GRE?

Without any penalties?

I'm using the scheduler on the GRE website right now, and it's giving me 3 days. But on the other hand, it sounds almost too good to be true.

Yes, you can sign up as soon as 3 days into the future. There’s no late registration penalty.

The only thing you have to be careful of is where the testing facility is. I remember there was only one testing facility within the city of Pittsburgh, and that tended to fill up months in advance. If you didn’t sign up in ahead of time you wound up having to go out to Monroeville (a suburb about a 20 minute drive away), and this was a pretty big problem for people that didn’t have a car.

The subject GRE is another matter. I believe you have to sign up well in advance for that.

The general GRE is easy to schedule because they administer it like candy. Except candy don’t cost u 160 bux u know what ah mean?
