How far into preparation should I start taking practice exams?

Title says it. I've been doing SAT prep daily since late August and I plan on taking the SAT in December. I'm a decent way into each section, but nowhere near totally finished with the prep book. I'm preparing for the PSAT in two weeks, but will increase my daily prep time after that.

Should I start taking exams now, or wait until I finish all of the review material? And what's a good way to take and space out exams (e.g. one every 2 weeks)?

Try a practice exam now. There’s like 20+ official practice exams you can take. I’m sure you won’t run out lol.

I did every collegeboard test..
I ran out :"O

I’m not worried about running out of exams, I just don’t want to start taking exams and develop bad habits for solving problems and stuff like that.

hm i think u should start taking 1 sittings only if u’re fully prepped, so my suggestion is deplete the cb sources in order, bb then oc then qas, save qas for last; take bits by bits in bb and oc, like sections at a time, do it when u feel u want to, but make sure u scrutinize every Q. im sure u’re decent, but u shouldnt run into 1 sittings during prep phase, save that for last, and make some dates, like every week sat before dec SAT,take one sitting or something so u’ll be adapt to it…there is really no point of seeing how much points u’ve increased during prep phase~~
