On Wednesday, I was accepted to Williams early write. This was a complete surprise for me because my mid-year grades were atrocious. I feel very nervous now because on the acceptance letter it says that the admissions committee chooses early writes candidates in February. My guidance counselor said she would send my mid-year reports on February 16 (but I highly doubt that because most of her stuff gets lost in the mail etc.). So now, I am worried that Williams accepted me without seeing my mid-year reports. If they accepted me without seeing my mid-year report, will they rescind me immediately after they see it? Or will I get a chance to raise my grades 3rd and 4th semester? Any responses are welcome.

you wouldn't believe what i was thinking when i saw this post. I'm actually in exactly the same boat as you. I was accepted ED , and then my grades went on a landslide. read (or search for) my thread titled "Admissions Rescindince?" most of the answer should be there

but called admissions and they weren't mad. Seems the most inmportant part of the issure is for you to bring your grades back up to where they were when you were accepted. Since williams is such a small school, they really really don't want to rescind any accepted students. pm me if you want more info on my situation.

three words though:

TALK TO ADMISSIONS
tell them what honestly happened and you'll be surprised

string -

Did you get this unknotted yet? Any advice to share?

Seems like quite a few of my classmates are on the edge academically, judging from the graded work, warning letters from colleges, and the like that are taped up on the Wailing Wall in the lounge at school.
