on sunday there's that Society of Women's Engineering convention/meeting at Berkeley, and I don't know what kind of clothes to wear/pack. any advice?

thanks. i'm super excited. have never been to Berkeley, not even CA. anyone who went in past years, was it interesting(the meeting, obviously Berkeley is just an awesome place to be)?

Hmm, not sure. Is this event for fall applicants?

I’d say pack some semi formal clothes like a nice blouse and skirt or pants.
The weather in the bay has been whack this year. Hot and sunny, then cold and rainy, back to sunny but still chilly, and warm, then freezing.
But lately it’s been a bit chilly and it’s always cold in Berkeley. I’d suggest packing some sweatshirts and clothes for layering.

Weather in the Bay right now = awful (well, for California ). Insanely intense rain…high wind warnings on the bridges, etc. Warm stuff, rain stuff = highly, highly necessary right now.

yeah it was really rainy… but one thing that struck me was how green everything was… i guess because the rain but it was completely unlike what i was expecting (dirt, and no grass)
it’s really nice. even though it rained the whole time it still wasnt really cold while i was gone it snowed 6 inches at my house! lol

Oh yeah, I am surprised you expected dirt, no grass actually – one of the things I always hear about the campus is how green it is. Definitely fits with my experience.

yeah… my dad travels to southern california on business pretty frequently and he always emphasizes how dry it is there and how “if you see a patch of green, there’s a sprinkler within 3 feet” but i should’ve believed people who have actually BEEN to berkeley. he was impressed, by the way, and kept noting how green and pretty it was.

But it really depends on where in socal you go though…I miss my home in socal right now…The hills must be green right now with spots of yellow mustard flowers covering the hills and bluffs behind my house.

Berkeley weather gets depressing for me after a while since it’s been overcast for so long and I’m just not used to it.
