<p>How friendly would you say Penn's student body is as a whole, or what kind of reputation does it have? How would you rate the atmosphere? Also, does it differ among different groups/residence halls?</p>
<p>I think it depends on where you are from - compared to the midwest and south it’s going to feel not as friendly.</p>
<p>It certainly differs among different groups. Realistically, you will be able to find a group of people who you fit in with, and I have found that people are generally friendly, though they certainly don’t go out of their way for anybody.</p>
<p>As for the atmosphere, it varies SIGNIFICANTLY with where you are and who you’re with, but I generally get the vibe of a LOT of people with a LOT of money, a crazy amount of intelligence and not all that much ability to fend for themselves. People like to work to an insane extent on academics during the week and then let loose on the weekends. After finding my place, I found it an enjoyable experience all in all.</p>
