Are there frats?
Is there school pride?
Are sports popular?
Are there parties?
How is living in Boston during the winter (I'm from nor-Cal)

Boston is awesome. :)

Go to a Northeastern hockey game and you decide.

At the Beanpot, Northeastern Breezes Past B.C. - Slap Shot Blog - NYTimes.com

but man is winter cold

There are frats at northeastern, but they aren't the main scene and not many people join them. If its what you really want, then join them, but there are plenty of parties elsewhere.

School pride? haha. Northeastern hockey fans are... well... At our Beanpot game on Monday, you couldn't hear a single BC cheer because the northeastern fans were cheering the entire game.

I'm from Florida, and obviously Boston is cold during the winter, but I'm okay with it. The key is to get a good jacket and good boots and not feel bad about looking like a dork for wearing tons of gloves, scarves, and jackets.

Thanks for all the help guys, still a couple questions
Do people still hang out outside during the winter or is going outdoors impossible?
I remember when I visited over the summer there were a lot of people by Harvard and some other shopping places.
I really liked the atmosphere of how many people there wer
I guess I just want to know how different is the Winter from the summer?

We don't "hang out outside" during the winter. No way. There are still people walking around and outside on the streets, but they're walking to get somewhere rather than just sitting and talking or having lunch, etc. Summer is probably more lively when people are trying to be outside as much as possible, but the atmosphere isn't THAT different in the winter.

And unless it's raining (which hasn't happened that often, I've noticed), walking in the snow isn't bad at all. Northeastern is REALLY good about plowing at soon as it snows. I've never had to walk on a sidewalk that hasn't been plowed.

What do you do during the winter if you are never outside (other than party and study)?
I know this may sound like a stupid question but i'm not used to staying inside much.

Well... what do you do in the summer other than study, party, and sit on the beach/outside? You can still hang out with friends, go to the gym, go out in the city, have hobbies... you just do them inside instead of outside.

Or if you have to go outside you can build snowmen out of slushy dirty week old snow...

In the winter you go to hockey games, or at least you should. They are so fun, no other fan base that I have encountered (For the record, been to Umass Amherst, Umass Lowell, BU, BC, Providence College, and Merrimack) is as lively as Northeastern's, we really work at chants and getting students involved. It's a great environment to watch a hockey game, the upper deck gives you the best seats in college hockey. If hockey isn't your thing then you can still go to all of the great places that Boston has to offer, just because the weather is a bit colder doesn't mean these places still aren't open. You shouldn't worry about walking a million miles to the nearest restaurant or anything like that, the T is great and we have 2 locations on campus (green and orange) and from those two lines you can get to pretty much where ever you want to go in under half an hour. Hope this response helped.

Are there frats? Yes, but they are not big at all, maybe 10% if that of student pop
Is there school pride? Not really, but its getting there, hockey is quite big but thats it
Are sports popular? Again, hockey yes, Bball kinda, and football, don't even bother the facility sucks
Are there parties? Sort of, you need to get ins with off campus appt owners or join the frat, parties are usually small since we only have appts
How is living in Boston during the winter (I'm from nor-Cal) its cold, but not terrible, im from the west as well and i find it to be comparable... however it is quite windy most days and that is what gets you
