How generous is Rice when it comes to International Financial Aid ?

Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone had any idea about how easy it is to get financial aid at Rice if your an international student ? How badly are your chances of acceptance damaged if you need a full ride ?

I don’t know specifically for internationals, but Rice is need blind for domestic students, so need is not part of the decision factor.

Rice is not need-blind for international applicants. See the following pages for more information on the international student aid process:

I don’t think Rice gives very good Aid for internationals, tbh the admin seem to see internationals as ca$h cows.

This is noy only Rice but also other colleges including Ivies.

Yea, imo most US schools see internationals as ca$h cows. There are a few that are need blind for internationals however (Dartmouth, Amherst etc).

@barrk123 amherst college ? or UMass at amherst ?

Amherst college.

Rice has several full tuition merit scholarships for international students since they don’t want to provide FA to Internationals.

I think they are doing fine attracting enough Internationals although I am baffled by 88 Chinese students. That is a lot for one country.
