How good are my chances with as a GED applicant?

I have some problems currently. I will go into more details later if need be, but for now, I hope it is sufficient to say that I am a GED applicant. My GED score converted to a national class rank is top 2.5%. My SAT score CR+M is 91st percentile or 1320, not including my weak writing score.

My question is how will the GED score affect my chances? The problem is top 2% nationally GED is high, but in consideration of the test taking population (high school drop outs, expelled high school students, chronically unemployed and impoverished class workers) it is not too impressive. It's kind of like saying, "I was in special ed, but at least I was the smartest one there."

Also, as a noteworthy point, I am aware that some lowered-tier schools, in lieu of high school transcript and GPA, convert GED score to a national ranking/GPA.
