How good are my chances?

^^^ Pardon me, but why so rude?

Seriously, this is a place where everyone states their opinion and contributes their two cents.

If you don't like what I've got to say to the OP, it is your none of your business. It is for the benefit of the OP, he/she decides whether he likes it or not.

<<< Can you stop preachin? >>>

Can you stop posting?

See how rude that is? I have no right to tell you whether to stop posting or not and you have no right to tell me whether to stop "preaching" or not. Especially when all I'm doing is trying to help out the OP.

haha chill out i wasn't trying to be rude...

just noting that you sounded more like a priest than a teenager lol

Ok, PKswmr76 he is not preaching at all. He is not explaining a specific sermon of any kind. MetdethGNR is evidently proclaiming -"he is the lord and master of the universe". Also PKswmr76 i comprehend you were just kidding around, however MetdethGNR evidently is substantial in his faith.

lol..."substantial in his faith" seems to be an understatement but whatever, I was only kidding.

back to the OP...why were you absent so much? i looked at your other thread and i saw that you missed like 45 days of school in 10th grade and around 70 in 9th grade...

Do the Ivies even have vet schools? I think there are less than 50 vet schools in the country, and most are state schools. Might be worth looking into before you apply.

Please do not limit yourself to elite schools. There are hundreds of schools that you can get amazing education at and still garner a high reputation. HYPSM are not the only good schools out there.

My grades were flawless in HS from day one and I was over-involved in every way possible, yet I still got waitlisted/rejected from all the Top 20 schools I applied to. Just browse through these forums and you will see that there are thousands of kids with extremely over-qualified stats with not enough positions in top schools for them. Not trying to be a downer, but you need to be realistic about your chances here. Failing a class is going to be extremely hard to overcome for top schools.

But if you get good grades these next two years, I am certain there ARE schools out there that will give you an extremely good education and possibly scholarship money. You seem to have a lot of drive right now so keep it going and good luck to you these next two years!

My honest opinion is that you have a very very small chance of making it into an Ivy, but there are plenty of colleges that are still pretty selective that you can aim for.

I had a friend who was absent quite abit during ninth grade. She always ditched class to work on homework or study for a test. not a good idea...

PKswmr76, its evident you were kidding. Just don't act rude.

I wasn't "acting rude". I have no idea what you're talking about.

To the OP - Try applying to schools that don't look at grades from freshman year.

listen...you may not be able to get through the front door to Harvard or Yale or whatever the heck you want to go to, but if you go to a decent school and show that you have turned your ways around (although your ways werent THAT bad), then you can transfer to a good school that accepts transfers.....but it never hurts to try

don't bother applying to the elite schools...try to get a good ACT or SAT score and u will have a shot at some somewhat selective schools

don't bother applying to the elite schools...

Don't listen to that.
If you truly like a school, you apply.
I am in a very similar position as the OP and anyone else who empathizes with the OP. Now, I'm looking at: Stanford, UChicago, Georgetown, and Northwestern.
A number from 0-4 is not everything.

are you kidding me? the OP does not seem to have any talents other than "being absent from school a lot"...he/she joined only 1 club in sophomore year and had grades that were pretty low in both 9th and 10th grade. also, if you fail algebra chances are that your standardized test scores are NOT going to be good. i'm all for applying to schools that are high reaches but the OP needs to be brought back to reality.

I don't want to make the OP feel bad but if these colleges are your dreams, you're going to have to work your ass off next year and first semester of senior year and completely turn around from frosh and soph year.

PKswmr76, I'm not "kidding" (if you were referring to me). I did the very thing that you stated in your post, and assuming that the OP does the same, he'll be able to turn a dream into a reality.

And what school are you attending x9521?

@x9521...I saw your chances thread and you were in a much better position than the OP in 9th and 10th grade.
