here are some colleges i was considering for an undergrad major in neuroscience:

Bates College
New York University
UCLA
UCSD
UC Irvine
University of Southern California
University of Pittsburgh

here are my stats:

unweighted GPA: 3.5
weighted: 3.8
sat composite: 1940 (math: 690. cr: 630)

how good are the neuroscience undergrad programs at the schools listed above and which ones do i have a shot at?
i live in indiana but cost isn't an issue

As an out-of-stater, the UCs (UCLA, UCSD- which have great nuero research by the way) are going to be tough to get into with your stats.

yeah that’s what i figured…what would you say about bates, NYU, and UofPittsburgh?

Why Bates? It’s a LAC-completely different from all the other schools you are considering. I’m not suggesting there’s anything wrong with Bates-only that it seems out of place on your list.

i haven’t heard much about bates either…i just heard of their neuroscience program & i just included it on the list. i don’t mind LAC’s but if the program at bates is inferior to programs like univ of pitt then i wouldn’t consider it much
