How good/bad is Barron's SAT?

I've tried the SAT twice so far, once with no prep and second time with minimal prep. 2070 first try, second try was May 1, still waiting. I plan on taking it again this June 5, so I got the Barron's SAT book to practice in. I wanted the Blue Book or Barron's 2400, but neither was available at the book store, so I just got this. I tried a few sections in the practice test and read a couple pages in the beginning, and it definitely seems more difficult than the SAT (a good thing in my books) - plus, I've noticed that most/all of my mistakes in CR are due to vocabulary shortage (even though I'm not low on vocab at all) and my Math mistakes are just dumb (seriously, there's no shortage in technique, it's just stupid arithmetic mistakes/not reading the question correctly) so I plan on correcting those.

Anyway, is the Barron adequate? Or should I also get the Blue Book? The 3500 word list here really looks good, should help loads if I manage most of it, and I've heard Barron's Math is the best. I need minimal if any practice on the writing section - maybe just a couple examples for future use.

Any opinions?

I'm aiming for anywhere between a 2300 and 2400, by the way, and I really feel that I can get 800's on M and W easily - just need a good CR boost (quick, efficient reader, can understand just about everything - maybe come across 1 or 2 questions on the whole CR that I have no clue how to answer - just those vocab mistakes..)

Thanks in advance :)

Honestley, I’ve been reading up the last few days and it seems like BB trumps all for practice tests. This is coming from Xiggi’s advice thread, but I mean it really makes sense and I completely agree. While your barrons book may be good for techniques it offers, the practice test will hinder your ability to perform on the real SAT due to the difficulty gap (hard questions get you in the wrong mindset). So get the Blue Book as soon as possible. And just a side note, I’m pretty sure Barrons 2400 is better than the normal Barrons book, you shoulda just wated =/ So yea try and get either of the other two books you were waiting for. If you have any further questions PM me or check Xiggi’s thread.

ziggy says there and too many words in that one, most of them dont show up on the SAT, so dont waste your time. I love blue book, and silverturtle suggests barrons 2400
