I have stellar stats already (2320 SAT 760 CR 760 M 800 W + 800 Math2 78- Bio 770 history). A lot of people applying to top schools have those stats though. What a lot of people don't have is a 12 on the SAT essay, which I got. Does it look good to colleges that I got a 12, or not really?

It’s better than not having one.

It’s a long way from allowing you to write your own ticket.

But, really, didn’t you kind of know that already?

It won’t look good unless you use those skills to write an even better admission essay.

What can be better than a perfect score? Good job!

Wait, does the 12 essay score even mean anything? I thought when you send the score, they only see the 800 writing. I don’t think they really care what makes up that 800, do they?

I think it means you’d better have an awesome essay on your Common App and supplements, which you probably will have.

You would be in a worse spot if you had a good to medium score on your SAT writing but hit a home run on your apps. At least I am thinking something like that. Anyway congrats on your great scores.
