Does ANYBODY have any thoughts?

Hi Euroazn,

i figure i’d chime in. i’ve seen people with your exact situation and this is what you want to major in: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/drexel-university/680451-drexels-business-engineering-major-unique-prestigious.html

The B&E program is the perfect fit for you. if you attempt to double major in math/finance or finance/cs you’ll quickly realize it’s nearly impossible in a good timeframe, a waste of time and money. with the B&E program you can major in finance and it has a virtually built in math minor. You can pitch the B&E major a number of ways, but one of the popular ways to pitch it is as a financial enigneering/quantitative finance major and graduates have been recruited by the leading investment banks. just off the top of my head, i know there are many co-op positions available at SIG, goldman sachs, and chase.

just realize that the major is not as easy as a regular finance major, and you’ll be working your ass off taking the same core classes as engineers. there are a lot of people that end up dropping the B&E program for regular business, which is unfortunate because in the very end just having a business administration degree won’t necessarily set you apart from many other candidates competing for jobs.

good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey, thanks. Any Drexel web pages with employment figures for the B&E program?

Not sure where they are off the top of my head but grads from the B&E program have higher salaries than non B&Es. I’ll PM you with a professor to ask your questions to.

Drexel offers merit scholarships up to full tuition. You can find more information here: [Undergraduate Grants and Scholarships | Student Resource Center/Financial Aid | Drexel University](<a href=“Grants and Scholarships | Drexel Central”>Grants and Scholarships | Drexel Central)

Drexel also has an honors college that you would seem to be a good fit for:
[Prospective Students - Pennoni Honors College](http://www.drexel.edu/honors/opportunities/resources/Prospective%20Students/)

How good is Drexel? No offence, but it’s overshadowed by UPenn, which is right beside it. With your stats, why don’t you apply to UPenn? Penn has the Jerome Fisher program in management and technology, which combines wharton and engineering. If you’re interested in investment banking, I would go wharton. You have some decent stats too.
