how good is jhu's chemical and bimolecular engineering program?

and does anyone know its ranking? is it almost as good as jhu's bme? thanks

In 2009, their chemical engineering program was ranked 20th in the nation. (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/engineering-majors/555743-us-news-2009-undergraduate-engineering-rankings-2.html</a>). I am a high school senior who is going to Hopkins next year for their ChemBE program and am really excited to be studying at one of the best programs in the nation.

Overall, Hopkins itself is ranked 13th in the world by The Times Higher Education Supplement ([THE QS World University Rankings | Top Universities](QS World University Rankings 2024: Top Global Universities | Top Universities)).

The BME program, however, consistently ranks 1st in the nation. So to answer your question, no ChemBE is not quite as well known as BME at Hopkins, but it is still well known/respected in higher education.

But BMEs take a lot of ChemBE classes… well Transport

thanks everyone. i want to go to medical school, thats why im looking at jhu. but would it be better to do chemical engineering at a school that ranks higher? like in top 10? thanks

Well considering that Hopkins has the highest placement rate for medical school, I would say that it would be a good choice for you haha. From 2003-2008, 85+% of applicants to US medical schools with a 3.3GPA or higher were accepted, and 90+% with a 3.5GPA or higher were accepted. The national average is around 50%.
