They’re both up there with the top American Universities (=CHYMPS). Cambridge is slightly better than Oxford, but you can’t go wrong with either. Both would be slightly better than RandomIvy.

is it hard for americans to get in because of the whole 3 yr degree thing

No, but it’s hard for Internationals to get in anywhere.

From what I understand, Oxbridge is nothing American ivies. In fact, it’s kind of unfair in general. There are a least a few schools in America who are like, “We’ll pay for you [international students] to come here to increase our diversity.” With places like Oxbridge, Canadian schools, and Australian schools it’s like they want you to fly off somewhere for an interview, they’ll give you no financial aid, and no matter how high your SAT/SAT/AP grades and GPA are they’re never as good as their country’s stuff…

That’s partly because they don’t need profligate spending to guarantee their spot in some ranking.

And the interview is a big part of admissions, or at least it was when my Aunt got into Oxford.

so is it bad to have the 3yr degree thing instead of a 4yr if i dont go to a school in england

Can’t you stay a 4th year for an “honours” degree? I understand that’s pretty much expected by American employers…

i would rather do 4 yrs of college than just 3
