How good is Pitt's...

Anthropology department? I've read other 'Best Anthropology Depts." posts and they often mention a (Gourman?) report that ranks Pitt's Anthro Dept. as up there in the rankings...

In addition to ranking, does anyone have a person opinion about this department? Thanks :)

PITT is also included in Rugg’s Recommendations for Anthro programs as one of 50 “very selective” schools with good Anthro programs. My D is also interested in possibly attending PITT next year and pursuing Anthro/Arch.

I don’t know much about the department per se, but this looks interesting:

This has links to video clips of select Pitt professors. There are several Anthro professors listed. Check out Richard Scaglion who has won the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award and the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring.
