I hear people on this forum talk about how tap really raises your chances of getting into Berkeley. Has anyone heard of anybody on this forum getting rejected by Ucb despite being a part of tap?

According to one statistic I heard not too long ago on this forum, about 80% of Berkeley TAP members get accepted. This means about 20% get rejected. Those are good odds.

I’m not sure if this statistic is correct, though, so take it with a grain of salt. I advise you to research this.

Yes, this is true. Most get in, considering they have decent grades. I do know of a guy that was in TAP, had a 3.95 GPA and got rejected. He applied to Haas though.

That’s understandable. Haas is extremely difficult to gain admission to. The acceptance rate is 16.4%. If UC Berkeley TAP is anything like UCLA TAP, you probably can’t use TAP to boost your chances of admission to special majors at UC Berkeley, such as those in their business school.

Wow ik Haas is super competitive but his GPA was really good. Did that guy not have any ec’s?

^ Or he couldn’t write well.

Oh yeah, writing well on the personal statement and elsewhere on the application is kind of a requirement if you want to get into Haas. Go figure.
