How good is the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at the University of

Houston?

And, how good is it compared to the one at UT Austin? Thanks.

UT-Austin: one of the top ten.
U-Houston: okay, not phenomenal.

What puts UT in the top ten? - better curriculum, facilities, professors?

Yes, yes, and yes.

UT's a very large and well-reputed school, especially in civil engineering, and a great deal of cutting-edge research is being done in the area of structural dynamics and structural engineering. It's involved in many of the top national research programs, it gets a lot of grants from the NSF and other government entities, and its facilities and courses and professors are top-rate.

University of Houston doesn't particularly have that prowess in civil engineering, nor does it have a particularly remarkable overall engineering program. Good, solid, produces quite competent engineers, but not particularly remarkable.

thank god aibarr, u made me have a good nights sleep.
