How good is the economics program?

How good is the economics program at Berkeley? I will be applying to Haas, but in case I don’t get in I will be majoring in economics…

As for job prospects, how good are they for economics majors for jobs in the business field, particularly finance?

Cal econ is very...very good. Your job prospects with a BA though? You'll probably get very good entry level jobs like a lot of the other top schools. That's the joy of a world saturated with graduate degrees.

Great department though!

bump........

where does UCLAri attend college?

Give it some thought. :p

i'm being thrown off by your "ucla" name, but you post quite often on the uc berkeley board.

Well, I plan on attending grad school, so I've looked quite a bit into grad programs at Cal (naturally.) That, and I don't think that the "Cal board" or "UCLA board" borders are as rigid as some suggest. If I can offer insight into an issue pertaining to Cal, I will.

I believe that 99% of all of Cal's grad programs, and its undergrad, are world class, so it's not hard for me to rah rah it up here. :)

These rankings are for graduate programs, but those will be a good reflection of their undergrad programs. Berkeley is #1 in the UCs.
