A network uses this account. The fact that you actually took time in going through the threads instead of remaining professional is quite saddening.

@gifmaster123, wow, that’s one of the stupidest excuse I have seen regarding trolling. Somebody spending thousands of dollars traveling to Africa and Central America somehow doesn’t have his own CC account. The reason I went through the threads is because I never believed what you said in this thread in the first place.

That is your problem, it does not matter if you do not believe it. Look up GeoEco and Aviva-sa volunteering. Please allow people to answer the question. A network of information sharing. And what does money have to do with a CC account? You, stop trolling. (What kind of ■■■■■ would this be anyway?)

Ha, here is one of your claims.

Here is your body triple.
I’m afraid to start one that I’ve been wanting to start for a while now because I’ve heard that the top colleges think it is cliche and reject kids who start charities. What is wrong with society?
I am rising sophomore
<a href=“Will Starting a Charity Decrease My Chances For Good Colleges - Applying to College - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1666901-will-starting-a-charity-decrease-my-chances-for-good-colleges.html

Sure. Whoever still wants to believe you, they can keep on answering your questions. They might as well answer phone calls from “Microsoft Technical Support”.

There will always be some kids who get into some super college and claim they had no service. Obviously, with today’s fierce competition, it’s a good bet that, somehow, what they did do made sense to those adcoms- not as a string of clubs or that silly word, “passions,” but in terms of their vision (and choices,) commitment and growth. And impact on others. .

I don’t know if OP is a ■■■■■. But he sure sounds young. This emotionalism, from playing with HUGE lions to being ready to just give up, will do him a disservice- now and going forward.

ps, per tos, one individual per username, no sharing allowed.

So how many weeks or days did you do this extensive research in Costa Rica?

Adcoms at selective schools have fatigue over kids trying to impress them with their essays about how they dug water wells for 4 days with their bare hands to help the indigenous children in some rainforest country.

Not only were your parents affluent enough to pay for one fortnight poverty-tourism trip, but they serious paid for two!

What is really wrong with this person (besides either being a ■■■■■ or having multiple people on the account, both of which are violations of the Terms of Service), is the constant use of “I”. “I” built a school. Really? Just you? Amazing!! Other examples like that. Played with HUGE lions. ROFLMAO. Uh-huh.

@fallenchemist In addition to this, I found it interesting he never really mentioned what his “research” actually entailed (besides apparently playing with huge lions… which isn’t really research).

It is also why I find this all despicably amusing.

@capitalamerica - Oh, it is definitely funny on one level. But as a mod these things have to be dealt with. But yes the idea that they
in 2 weeks (!!) is also laughable hyperbole.

It is not like I am some rich spoiled brat who went to foreign countries just to glitter his resume. I have done 350+ hours of volunteer service in my community involving park conservation and wildlife. I was poorer than all of you when I immigrated and I am lucky to be where I am now, so I give back reflecting my passion. Delete my account or whatever if you want.

And the assumption among some kids that they invented the wheel. It’s not just a cynicism against the programs- it can be what it reveals about the kid that he thinks adcoms won’t ever have seen these kinds of things before and will be awed. And in the meantime, many never lift a finger in their home communities, the sort of roll up your sleeves work, not social events.

There is a way OP could use the Kruger trip, but I think we save that for a few years. He’s got a couple of pay-to-play lines on his resume and needs to get a bead on the full picture colleges want.

Kids in my girls’ hs used to go to CR and call it 168 hours because, after all, they were there for a week.
