How good is UC Berkeley, NYU, USC, Cornell with Finaid

I posted this in the finaid section but i thought there would be people who would know here. Who helps you out the most or least? I am a Cali resident..thanks a bunch!!!!!!

Cornell and USC are better with aid packages...

NYU is bad, i know that much

^ I heard the same as well about NYU.

I dunno much about Cornell.

As an instate, you'll get substancial amount of fin. aid from Berkeley (but then, you are an in-state, which is a HUGE financial benefit itself.)

USC is known for it's huge financial aid package, both for merit- and need-based. If you are able to qualify for all the need-based financial aid and win one or two merit-based ones (besides the full-ride and the half-tuition), than going to USC will not be any more expensive than attending a UC.

As for NYU, people said it here. It has a bad financial aid system. It only helps out the in-state and even that is horrible. Basically you gotta live off loans and pell-grant (which you will not get anymore than $4050). In addition, NYC's cost of living is ridiculously high. Good Luck with that.

NYU is terrible. I am a freshman there now, and while other schools of about the same caliber gave me just about full tuition covered by financial aid, NYU gave me a little more than half. And that extra 10 grand does make quite a difference. And dorms at NYU are so much more expensive than a lot of schools, with upperclassmen dorms ranging from 11- 17 grand a year. ouch. I'm not too sure on those other schools though.

Has the deadline for USC already passed? I thought I saw February 1st on their website but then it seems like people here are still considering applying for Fall 07?

yeah, the deadline passed, it was feb 1st

thanks I was thinking about it b/c people said it's good with aid. Do you know about CMC's FA?

Its pretty good, prolly better than USC

kewl..........I think I'm going to apply there. Have you visited it before? It just looks so damn ugly on the website...I mean, the scenery looks awesome, but the actual campus has such awful architecture.

HAHAHA, yea, i saw the pics and it looked pretty ugly! i havent seen the campus, but i have been around the pomona area, about 20 mins away is the ontario mills mall and its dope as hell! they have all kinds of outlets and all kinds of brand clothing are cheaper. Um, i heard the pomona area is really quiet and suburban, which is better than USC, which is nasty (i use to go around usc all the time)
