More specifically, Hunter at CUNY. I plan to major in psychology and minor in a foreign language (TBD). How good of a school is it for Undergrad? I want to know how well it is looked upon within the business and professional world, as well as how its looked upon as a college.

Well, in New York City, the three most well-known CUNY are probably, Baruch College, Hunter College, and Queens College.
Baruch, in the eyes of students, is a business and public affair school. Here in NYC, the business professionals have all learned about Baruch, and Baruch itself, is a very competitive CUNY school.
Hunter, I think many students went for the nursing and bio program. But that isn’t true for all student. But simply because the name stands out… so I say it’s pretty well known in NYC.
Queens College… I guess it stands out because everyone in Queens talks about it hahaha

Anyway. IMO, Hunter is a very good school. You won’t be regret for the choice. How good? Certainly Hunter is not Columbia, or Yale, or Harvard, but if you are willing to invest your time building your resume and experience, you can outperform these IVY elitists.
Out of the state, I think only Baruch continues to stand out because it’s pretty renown in the business sector.
But in general, CUNY is a good system.

The CUNYs are good schools. The biggest difference between them and many other name schools is that they are commuter schools and do have a large range of students. In the intro courses, you will get a lot of kids who are not going to make the grade because the admissions is not as selective.

Hi! Sorry, I just found this conversation very helpful. I’m from Not from the U.S. But just finished high school and want to go to one of the cuny schools next year. J don’t really understand it all, but was wondering what the easier schools to get into are… I want to study there for maybe a year or 2 … Don’t know how it would work, but I was just wondering if you could give me some advice on what schools are possible for me to get into as well as what the process is! Thank you!!!
Not all of the CUNY schools are good schools. Some of the CUNY schools such as City College or the New York City College of Technology are abysmally bad. Hunter College is a bit better though. I would say that the CUNY university system has many poor students but a few of the professors at the CUNY schools are decent though. The main advantage though of CUNY over other schools is that CUNY is more affordable for most New Yorkers.
