is the communication department at WFU....?
is it renowned at all?
any good?
worth it?

bummppppp!
answer
PLEASE!

I haven't heard much, if anything, about it. I'm also interested in communications (journalism, broadcast, advertising), and, although I am applying to Wake, I'm not considering majoring in communications if I go there. I'm pretty sure that Wake doesn't even have a seperate journalism major; it's just general communications.

It's definitely not renowned.

yeah. thats what i tought also. as you are, i am interested in journalism/brocasting/pr.
but what would you major in?

at Wake? I don't know...I would go in undecided...maybe major in marketing or something.

But most of the schools I'm appyling to have specific Journalism majors (some even have advertising and broadcast journalism).

If you know communications is what you want to pursue, and your heart isn't set on Wake, then I would definintely recommend applying to some other schools with better communications programs (which you might already be doing).

Yes that's what i am sort of doing. BUt I am considering not applying to Wake at all. But i am not so sure about it.

First of all - for clarification Wake DOES has a journalism department. Right now it only offers a minor. Here is the info: Add Title

Secondly, I'm not a com major - but I LOVED the interpersonal communication class I took last semester. It was probably one of the best classes I've ever taken at Wake. I don't know about com specifics, but I know my com professor is involved with the debate team at Wake. Wake's team won FIRST PLACE in the National Debate Tournament last year, beating Dartmouth in the finals.
