How hard are Chem 4A/4B?

I'm starting this fall and would like to know. Thanks.

Unbelievably hard. Most people I know are happy to get through it with a B. I suggest not taking it unless you’re a Chem genius, your major requires it, or Chem is your one true academic love.

Hella hard… that’s why i dropped it after 2 weeks lol and transfer out of CoC. but i was bad at chem to begin with…

Damn really. I took AP Chemistry in 10th grade and got an A, it’s supposed to be one of the hardest classes at our school. What’s so hard about 4A?

just the material. not like ap chem lol.

Is there a lot of math? Do the professors grade harshly?

i’m also curious about this
is it hard because it’s a lot of material or because it’s really in depth?
are the professors good and are the classes huge?

It’s both a lot of material and in depth. I don’t know about the professors this fall, but the classes have about 260 which isn’t too huge unlike Chem 1A which has about 500 per class

since the classes are so large, the professors don’t really know you unless you’re the top top of the class, right?

Chem 4A/4B are the weedout series. If you don’t do well there, absolutely switch into another major before you go too far into the chem/chem eng program.
