How hard are Honors Courses?

<p>I got stuck with Voiculescu for Math 54. And frankly speaking, he has horrendous rating on ratemyprofessor. Besides I heard he grades very harshly. He apparently once gave 2As only to a class of 200. I'm thinking of taking Math H54 instead of Voiculescu, even though i know nothing about the professor ( couldn't find anything ).</p>

<p>So how much harder are the honors courses? How are they different? Is the average student smarter than the normal class student? How much extra effort would i have to put? Or do you guys think i should stick with Voiculescu?</p>

<p>I took Math H54 instead of Math 54 for similar reasons. With the disclaimer that it all depends on your professor, I found that the material was far more advanced and theoretical, but that the grading was much easier.</p>

<p>In any case, just sign up for H54. You can always drop to normal 54 if it doesn’t work out.</p>
